Multi-country e-vignette road trip: order of purchase

Driving Bulgaria to Greece via Romania, or Alps to Adriatic? A practical sequence for buying seven supported countries without mixing plates or dates.

There is no single “EU vignette” that covers every motorway on this site. Each country we sell uses its own operator, plate record, and product rules. This planner-style guide helps you line up purchases for common touring corridors through Bulgaria, Switzerland, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

One checkout per country, per plate

Hungary and Slovakia are separate networks. Switzerland is a calendar annual product for many cars. Romania may be a time vignette or a trip bundle.

Never assume yesterday’s purchase covers today’s border. Complete tolltoGo.com checkout again when the country changes.

Sample route: Netherlands to Black Sea

Typical order: Czechia or Slovakia transit, then Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria depending on motorway choices. Buy each product before you enter that country’s tolled network.

Weekend or weekly products in Bulgaria can suit short Black Sea stays; Hungary D1 vs D2 must match your vehicle papers.

Jump straight to checkout by country

Tap a flag to open that country’s purchase page. Each flow shows the right catalog rows, weekend or trip products where applicable, and the FAQ for that network.

Sample route: UK or France to Slovenia coast

Often includes Switzerland (annual vignette), Austria (not sold here plan ASFINAG separately), then Slovenia DARS class 2A or 2B. Check camper height before you pay Slovenia.

We only sell the seven countries listed on our home page; detours through Austria or Italy need their own operators.

Align start dates with navigation reality

GPS may route you onto a tolled slip road earlier than you expect, especially near capital ring roads.

Set validity to start on the day you plan to touch tolled asphalt, not the day you arrive at the hotel in a toll-free zone.

Keep proof organised

Create a folder in your email app with one confirmation per country. At borders or police checks, you want plate, dates, and product name visible within seconds.

Use the country grid on our general planning article to jump straight to each checkout.

Compare countries first

Touring several markets? Start on the home page with the country whose motorways you use first. Repeat checkout per country; catalogs and vehicle classes differ per network.
